The phrase made its way into the English language in the 19th century, frequently used by philosophers, artists, and writers to describe the ultimate purpose or justification for a person’s existence, an institution's foundation, or a masterpiece's creation. It answers the fundamental question: What is the driving force that brings this into the world?
In a world increasingly dominated by mass production and fast, fleeting trends, items are often created without a true "reason." They exist simply to fill space.
We wanted to challenge that.
